An exciting opportunity awaits you to join a rapidly growing Medical Devices division and contribute to the development of innovative Medical Technologies. We are seeking a Senior or Principal Design Engineer who has previously worked as a hands on engineer, potentially as a Manufacturing Engineer, while working on Design of Manufacturing (DFM) within the Medical Devices, Biotechnology or Sciences industries.
Ideally, you will have a degree in manufacturing, mechanical or process engineering, while having Manufacturing, Design or Process Engineering experience designing in 3D CAD while also having a background in maintaining production machinery.
You will support design teams across multiple functions, with a particular focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM). The role involves building prototypes and testing new rigs to ensure medical devices function correctly and can be manufactured efficiently. Supply Chain experience would be highly advantageous.
Given the size of the group, we need someone willing to engage in designing, building, and testing systems, as well as maintaining production machinery. As the group expands, this role will evolve, providing excellent opportunities for career advancement.
You will be expected to take leadership of various projects as they arise, whilst also collaborating effectively within teams depends on project requirements.

- Programme and modify control systems using PLCs, Servo drives, Robots, and other specialised controllers specific to customer requirements.

The Right Person
The successful Commissioning Engineer will have the relevant vocational training or will have completed a recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical discipline as well as possessing the following attributes and skills:
- Experience programming Programmable Logic controllers (PLC), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) using software such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Festo, Codesys, Siemens.
- Knowledge of setting up Servos, VFDs, Remote I/O, Ethernet and Profibus networks.
- Proven electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical experience within the automation industry.
- Ability to follow electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and drawings.
- Knowledge of 6 Axis Robot systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of script-based programming would be an advantage.

An exciting and growing Medical Devices organization based in Cambridge is currently seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to work on the development of life-saving and life-improving Medical Devices.
With a primary focus on FPGA design, you will collaborate with other electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, physicists, and scientists in the development of these Medical Devices.

Medical Devices – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Cambridge
Due to successful growth plans, a Medical Devices organization based in Cambridge is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of life-saving Medical Devices.
Collaborating closely with other industry experts, such as electronics design engineers, software engineers, physicists, and other Medical Devices specialists, you will tackle some of the most complex challenges in the development of new Medical Technologies.
Ideally, you will have a background in developing new Medical Devices throughout the entire design life cycle, adhering to ISO 13485 standards. If you have not worked on Medical Devices, we will consider candidates from other highly regulated industries such as life sciences, robotics, product development, etc.
For the 3D CAD elements of your role, you will primarily use SolidWorks. Familiarity with this tool would be advantageous, but we are open to considering other 3D CAD tools if you have a proven track record of quickly acquiring new skills.
When discussing complex problems, it would be beneficial if the Medical Devices you have worked on have involved fluidics, mechanism design, thermal issues, FEA, or other intricate applications. Chemical Physicist – Fluidic Device Testing
Newton Colmore is working with a technology company in London who are looking for a Chemical Physicist to join their testing team.
As a Chemical Physicist, you will be utilising your scientific experience to design and develop test rigs and protocols to deliver meaningful conclusions that will shape the future development and manufacturing of fluidics-based devices.
This will include the testing of key systems and their sub-systems as well as all data logging solutions. This is an all-encompassing testing role that you will also have responsibility for assembly, de-bugging and the sourcing of bespoke components. You will be testing for a variety of different parameters including thermal management, actuators and mechanism design as well as fluidic flows and how electronics interact with fluidics.
We are looking for physicists who have experience with designing test rigs, CAD systems and knowledge of low volume prototyping and manufacturing practices. Any additional experience with designing test scripts in Python would be advantageous to your application.
