Location: Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join a leading UK-based developer of high-reliability TETRA and LTE radio terminals. This is a hands-on role, contributing to RF design and development projects while ensuring seamless integration with other subsystems and high standards of technical performance.
This role is ideal for a technically proficient individual with extensive RF electronics experience, who is confident working across departments and with internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Main Responsibilities of the Senior RF Engineer based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire:
Design and specify RF circuitry for radio terminal products
Complete subsystem design and implementation, including integration with Baseband, Audio, and MMI subsystems
Select and source components, and supervise schematic creation and PCB layout
Produce design test documentation and perform technical requirements analysis
Resolve design and integration issues and support type approval
Conduct performance testing and optimisations to meet specified criteria
Collaborate with baseband, software, and audio teams to integrate RF solutions into broader projects
Create detailed technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and performance assessments
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively allocate resources
Perform hands-on work with sensitive PCBs, including rework and modifications
Travel to customer or partner sites as required
Requirements of the Senior RF Engineer based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
Extensive experience in RF design and development, ideally within telecommunications or critical communications
Comprehensive knowledge of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and testing
Strong hands-on design experience and component-level expertise
Experience in at least three of the following: RF Tx/Rx architectures, RF receivers, RF transmitters, RF power amplifiers, EMC/EMI, frequency generators, antenna design/tuning, matching networks, broadband communications, LTE/4G/5G, component selection, simulation tools (ADS/CST), and testing protocols
Strong experience in at least two technologies: TETRA (100-900 MHz), GSM (800/900/1800 MHz), LTE/4G/5G (700-2700 MHz), GNSS (1.6-2 GHz), WiFi (2.4-6 GHz)
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and resources effectively

Main duties of the Maintenance Planner:
The leadership of the maintenance shutdown coordination, establishing best engineering practices
Control and populate the engineering shift plan for all engineering personnel across all disciplines including contractors
To chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities
Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all maintenance activities or activities involving the engineering team
Key involvement with the implementation of a new CMMS system and T-card system
Work closely with the Engineering Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Manager, and Operational Managers to provide a schedule of work for shift engineers to maintain and improve the reliability of assets
Liaise with production, services, and central functions, to ensure that routine maintenance is planned, and job requests are executed and costed efficiently and effectively
Ensure that equipment removed from the plant, which is being repaired in-house, is coordinated through the shift plan, Work Orders allocated to the repair of each item and appropriate cost captured
Control of accurate records and documentation for all production and auxiliary plant including insurance records
Coordinate and site contact for Contractors to ensure safe and controlled activities are completed on-site and to the quality of engineering standards
