Apprentice Equine Technician
As a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprentice, you'll play a vital role in our Equine Centre and curriculum area. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards in all tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of both educational and commercial activities at our college's Equine Centre. In your daily work, you will interact with venue personnel, such as chefs, catering managers, facilities managers, managers/owners and kitchen staff. Personnel from equipment manufacturers technical support services, and equipment and spares suppliers’ sales and technical staff. You may also liaise with Environmental Health Officers and other trades personnel, such as builders, electricians etc. Internally, you will interact with company management, office staff and other technicians. Installations involve unpacking and in some cases assembling equipment, connecting in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to suitable services (gas, electricity, water and drainage) and commissioning. Where an installation involves the removal of equipment, engineers disconnect the redundant item, remove it to a safe area for disposal and make safe any services no longer required. On maintenance visits, engineers visually inspect the equipment, check the services for any problems, carry out maintenance tasks as specified by the manufacturer, and test the equipment is functioning as designed. On repair visits, engineers establish the problem from the customer, check the faulty item to confirm the problem, diagnose the fault, adjust or repair or replace faulty components, and test the equipment after repair to ensure that it is working correctly. Engineers are qualified and registered with F-gas for the types of appliances they are working on and retain their competency. Apprentice Technical Support Engineer
Principal Responsibilities 1. To be part of a team of ICT professionals who provide and contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of all server, network and end-user hardware, software and associated services, from installation through to disposal. 2. Degree Apprentice – Product Design Engineer
Avire is seeking an apprentice to join our small, high impact Product & Innovation Team. Avire is at the forefront of development of emergency communications systems and other safety-of-life products for the building services industry, with a particular focus on high-rise buildings. Your work will be critical to ensuring that building occupants, particularly less mobile occupants, and those with disabilities, are protected and able to communicate in the event of emergencies such as high-rise building fires. Working in a highly collaborative international environment, you will work to build your knowledge and skills in product design engineering through a combination of off-the-job training (delivered by our partners at Newbury College/University Centre Newbury) and on-the-job development. Your tuition will be fully funded for the full duration of the programme, meaning you will achieve a degree level qualification without needing to take on any student debt. You will initially be paid a salary of £26,500, and this will be reviewed annually in line with your development of the required knowledge, skills, and behaviour (KSBs), rising to £35,000 - £40,000 (depending upon performance) over the 4-year duration of the programme, subject to achieving the required KSBs. What will you be doing?
