In your daily work, you will interact with venue personnel, such as chefs, catering managers, facilities managers, managers/owners and kitchen staff. Personnel from equipment manufacturers technical support services, and equipment and spares suppliers’ sales and technical staff. You may also liaise with Environmental Health Officers and other trades personnel, such as builders, electricians etc. Internally, you will interact with company management, office staff and other technicians.
Installations involve unpacking and in some cases assembling equipment, connecting in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to suitable services (gas, electricity, water and drainage) and commissioning.
Where an installation involves the removal of equipment, engineers disconnect the redundant item, remove it to a safe area for disposal and make safe any services no longer required.
On maintenance visits, engineers visually inspect the equipment, check the services for any problems, carry out maintenance tasks as specified by the manufacturer, and test the equipment is functioning as designed.
On repair visits, engineers establish the problem from the customer, check the faulty item to confirm the problem, diagnose the fault, adjust or repair or replace faulty components, and test the equipment after repair to ensure that it is working correctly.
Engineers are qualified and registered with F-gas for the types of appliances they are working on and retain their competency.
Once qualified you will be responsible for planning your schedule and logistics to meet customers’ requirements and location. Reporting to the correct person in the customer’s premises and agreeing the purpose of their visit and managing customer expectations. At all times, presenting a professional image of the company. Engineers largely work on their own and unsupervised – self-managing, however occasionally on maintenance visits to larger kitchens, you may work alongside other Engineers or a Supervisor. To assist with the hands-on operation of the plant during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations as directed by the Plant Operator and Shift Team Leader.
Maintains detailed and accurate records of daily operational activities.
Assists shift team leader in root cause analysis investigations following plant disturbance or environmental release.
Develop standard operating procedures and review following plant disturbance.
Creates work requests and reports defects through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Works collaboratively with all members of enfinium team and contractors to ensure the highest levels of H&S are maintained at all times.
Monitor stocks and take receipt of consumables / collection of residues.
Training:
Year 1 – During year 1 you will be based at CATCH Stallingborough, this is where your journey begins in learning all that there is to know about being a Engineering Technician.
Year 2 & 3 – During this time you will be based on site at Ferrybridge, Knottingley, throughout these two year you will have the opportunity to further understand and develop the skills by being on site and learning from your peers.
Training Outcome:
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.
You will have developed a variety of interchangeable skills and have an in depth understanding of manufacturing and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to health and safety (H&S) regulations and processes to maintain safe working practices throughout the factory.
Assist in all stages of the build process across various departments within the factory.
Learn to safely operate and maintain power/air tools.
Use power/air tools to assist with assembly tasks such as cutting, drilling, screwing, and fixing.
Follow instructions and work efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
Learn welding techniques and safety procedures under supervision.
Support manual handling of build components to assist with production.
Assist in preparing metal parts by cleaning, measuring, and aligning two or more components.
Perform quality checks on assembled components to ensure standards are met.
Participate in hands-on training, as well as any classroom or workshop activities.
Work closely with mentors and the leadership team to develop not only task-specific skills but also professional conduct in the workplace.
Maintain a positive attitude, comply with all rules and regulations, and show a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Training:You will work towards:
Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician.

Maintenance, repair, installation and retrofit of the company's range of Tapchanger and Transformer products, both on site and in our Loughborough factory. The initial 12 months will be factory-based
Disassemble, overhaul, fault find, repair, rebuild Tapchanger’s, transformers both on-site and in-work as required
Work to specifications and technical requirements
Undergo training as necessary to ensure that current and future H&S requirements are met at all times
Work in accordance with on-site risk assessments on every assignment
Provide written reports on completion of each assignment
Training:
Primarily based in the workplace
Apprentices attend Loughborough College on block release to study Level 4 Higher National Certificate/Higher Technical Qualification in Engineering
Trainer / Assessor to visit in the workplace
