The ideal candidate will be responsible in assisting a senior fee earner in all aspects of litigated and non-litigated claims with an emphasis on pain related conditions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deal with all aspects of litigated and non litigated personal injury claims mainly of a high (serious injury/ multi track) value and/or technical nature as requested.
- Continuously risk assess a case as it progresses and highlight concerns to your fee earner/line manager to include having regard to liability, contributory negligence, causation, and quantum
- To immediately draw to your fee earners attention the receipt of any kind of offer of settlement and to update the system to reflect the nature, date, and amount of offer.
- To understand the complexities associated with establishing causation and pain.
- To identify the need for signposting to other organisations such as Headway or other charities.
- To identify the need for the claimant to be referred for a benefits check and obtain authority from your fee earner supervisor to refer the client for a benefits check.
- To attend if required the Magistrates Court, Crown Court, or Coroners Court for hearings as required.
- Obtain relevant and necessary evidence (medical or otherwise), liaising with medical experts as necessary, identify and request relevant discovery documents. This will include being familiar with digitised platforms for securing medical records and imagery, an ability to review records and reports and prepare comprehensive summaries.
- Instruct Counsel, attend conferences and JSMs.
- Draft pleadings, applications, instructions, briefs, schedules of loss and witness statements with supervision and guidance.
- Full utilisation of PI Calculator (training will be given).
- Ensure any appropriate instructions are obtained from any relevant lay and/or insurance clients or their litigation friend where the client is a protected party.
- Engage with mentoring and training other team members as required by your manager or Head of Department.
- To attend client meetings as requested which can be anywhere in England/Wales.
- To liaise with and instruct pagination companies where relevant and proportionate with sign off from your fee earner/manager.
Experience & Knowledge
- Substantial experience running a litigated caseload or assisting with a serious injury case load. Candidates from a Defendant background with relevant experience will be considered.
- Excellent client care and analytical skills, to include providing written and oral advice in a clear concise manner.
- The ability to liaise and build up a rapport by using effective communication with all external agencies during the life of a claim including medical agencies, investigators, barristers etc
- Good IT skills with a sound working knowledge of VF or a similar case management system and essential MS Office knowledge.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a calm and methodical approach to work, and a flexible and adaptable attitude to resolving issues.

About the Role
As Area Manager, you will drive the commercial success of a portfolio of charity shops by delivering a strong, community-focused retail offer. You will lead on Gift Aid, the Hospice Lottery and other key income streams, ensuring each shop supports the charity’s mission.
You will manage and motivate a team of Shop Managers, providing empowering leadership and working closely with the Head of Retail to ensure all operations are efficient, compliant and commercially effective.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and support Shop Managers across multiple retail sites
Drive income generation and profit growth across the portfolio
Promote Gift Aid and the Hospice Lottery to maximise fundraising
Ensure each shop reflects its local community while aligning with charity values
Oversee compliance, health and safety, and operational best practice
Encourage teamwork, collaboration and a positive culture across the retail division
Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the charity’s retail strategy

Proven experience managing multiple retail locations (charity retail desirable)

Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving abilities
Full, clean driving licence – this role involves a high amount of travel and comes with the use of a company car

Assisting the Office Manager with all aspects of administration, duties will include:
Telephone call handling
Welcoming guests
Processing orders
Liaising with suppliers and other members of staff
Organising paperwork, filing, photocopying, and scanning
Franking post
Job tickets and typing up quotations
Processing holiday applications
Maintain the plant and vehicle hire logs
Maintaining the branch training plan
Typing letters, organising and facilitating meetings
Supporting contract staff and any other duties as and when required
Training:
You will be allocated an Assessor via our Training Provider who will guide you through the training of your qualification via support/training sessions and 1 to 1 reviews over the course of your qualification
No College attendance, assessment will take place in the business with the support of a dedicated training representative from our Training Provider
You will have access to an online portfolio where work can be submitted online, and feedback provided. All training will take place within the workplace
As part of the Level 3 Business Administration programme, you will be supported to develop a wide range of business administration and personal development skills you require to complete the apprenticeship programme
This apprenticeship will provide an excellent foundation for anyone wishing to move into a business administration role and will provide a wide range of skills and competencies

Key Responsibilities Include:
Promote products and services as represented by the company to Retail, Trade and Dealer based clients via (not limited to) telephone, email, Web based orders and ‘face to face’ counter sales
Assist and action interdepartmental engine/parts/service requirements
Identify and source parts and engines via the manufacturers engines, parts and accessories database and catalogues
Deal with customer questions and queries relating all aspects of the company business primarily in relation to engines parts and accessories
Representing and assisting the company during trade shows on an ‘as and when required’ basis
Attend and undertake manufacturer specific/product training as and when required
Goods Inwards processing - To assist as and when required with the process of checking incoming parts orders, goods receive via our in house dealer management system, refilling stock shelfs appropriately and to all company standard operating procedures
Parts order picking and packing - To assist as and when required with customer order picking and packing, preparing orders for dispatch, booking on local freight company systems
Parts department housekeeping - As part of the team you will be expected to assist with the general ‘Good housekeeping’ of all stock parts and locations along with front counter/shop front display areas preserving a tidy and well presented department/shop

Support the management of buy-in payments, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all payments and true up calculations to ensure that Trustees have the required funds to make payments to the customers

Transitions
Support Transition Consultants by attending client and internal calls and drafting minutes
