They will be required to interpret detailed engineering drawings (modern and historic) and work in a machine shop where tight tolerances are required to be achieved.Being well organised and highly self-driven with an approachable, flexible personality is essential to the role, as you are a key piece of Reekie's production team, engineering team and overall business quality success.Key Responsibilities
Conducting Inspections: Performing first off and final inspections of machined parts, assemblies, and components using various tools and equipment.Interpreting Documentation: Reading and understanding engineering drawings, 3D models, technical specifications, and quality standards and identify defects.Using Inspection Equipment: Operating tools like callipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).Documenting Results: Accurately recording inspection findings, creating reports, and initiating non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary. (Progress System)Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identifying the root cause of quality issues, working with Operations Manager and production teams to implement corrective actions, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring inspection equipment is routinely calibrated, maintained, and in good working order.Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with machinists, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure quality standards are met and continually approve.Adhering to Safety and Quality Standards: Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols, and adhering to quality control procedures.
